| Three
designs of fan wheels are offered: |

The “B” style
wheel is a heavy-duty, 8 radial bladed, Almag wheel
with taper lock bushing and negative pressure fins. |
The “F” style
wheel is a lighter Almag wheel with more rounded
corners, a hub plate cover, and negative pressure
fins to minimize fiber damage when the velocities
or weight of fiber are high enough to drive the fiber
into the wheel. |
Fabricated
steel, or aluminum radial blade wheels with negative
pressure
fins are used in the larger fans with wheel diameters
above 23 inches. The wheels have rounded
edges, de-burred surfaces, negative pressure fins,
and reinforcing for the heavier loads of larger fans. |

| American
Fan Company fiber fans are designed in 12 sizes,
from 9 inches through 21 inches based on inlet size.
All are available in either arrangement 4 (direct
drive) or arrangement 9 (belt drive). |

| Direct-drive
designs provide lower maintenance requirements for
hard-to-reach locations. The speed control usually
associated with belt-drive can now be accomplished
on direct-drive through use of AC inverters. |
 |
Capacities
range from 1,200 ACFM to 11,000 CFM at 1” to
15” SP.
Recommended Max Material Loading = 43 CFM / lb. of
material. |

| A fan handling 2500
cubic feet per minute (cfm), 188 pounds of air, can
transport about 56 pounds of fiber per minute, or
3360 pounds per hour. |
